‘Katvoman’ participating in Barcelona festival

Iranian ‘Katvoman’ is taking part in the Barcelona Human Rights Film Festival in Spain.

Iranian short flick ‘Katvoman’ has been taking part in the Barcelona Human Rights Film Festival currently underway in Spain.

The Iranian Youth Cinema Society reported that ‘Katvoman’ is participating in the 19th edition of the festival.

The film, written and directed by Hadi Sheibani, is inspired by the fictional character of Catwoman.

“Katvoman has become weak to the extent that she cannot save people anymore,” a synopsis for the film reads.

‘Katvoman’ received its world premiere at the 20th Molise Cinema Film Festival in Italy.

The film was also awarded at the 58th edition of the International Amateur Film Festival of Kelibia in Tunisia.

The Barcelona Human Rights Film Festival aims to “show films that make us think, awaken our conscience, denounce injustice and reflect the social and cultural diversity of humanity”, according to an online submission platform.

This year’s edition of the festival kicked off on December 1 and will run until Friday.
